Putre

Another typical and at the same time unique andean village 130km east from the coastal Arica. An altitude of 3500m at this point of the trip doesn't scare the travellers already used to the jumps between the lowlands of the Pacific shores and the highlands of the Andes. Putre is pretty on its own but the spectaculous amount of beautiful landscapes and wonders of nature around is just incredible.

Tiny centre of the tiny village

Terrace Lodge hostel I stayed in and will always recommend

Mamiña

When thinking about Mamiña I recall only a short moment of earth trembling as there was a typical for this region earthquake nearby. This village is so small and isolated from the crowded coast that it offers only one attraction - hot springs - mainly for local miners' families.

Iquique

Ciudad de Iquique by the Pacific Ocean
with its unusual buildings that prosperous Europeans left in 19th century in Georgian and Victorian styles.
